Why connect Invoices to Kato

Invoices is Kato's native billing workspace for turning completed client work into clear requests for payment. Teams can prepare invoice settings, create and deliver invoices, track their status, and manage retainers without separating billing from the client records, tasks, and delivery conversations that explain the charge.

Billing connected to delivery

Keep invoice preparation close to the client and work it represents, helping teammates confirm context before an invoice is sent or a payment question is answered.

Flexible payment and accounting connections

Use Kato on its own or connect supported providers such as Stripe and QuickBooks when the workspace needs hosted payment collection or accounting synchronization.

Retainer visibility

Manage recurring client arrangements from the same workspace so account teams can understand billing status alongside the work planned for the engagement.

Ways teams use Invoices

Project-based invoicing

Create an invoice for a completed milestone, verify client and line-item details, deliver it, and monitor payment status without losing the related project context.

Recurring client retainers

Keep retainer terms and billing activity available to account owners who also need to plan the ongoing work covered by the relationship.

Accounting handoff

Connect QuickBooks when sent invoices and payment updates should also appear in the books while Kato remains the operational source for client billing.

Invoices integration questions

Is Invoices built into Kato?

Yes. Invoices is a native workspace app. Payment and accounting integrations are optional additions for teams that want connected Stripe or QuickBooks workflows.

Can Kato track whether an invoice was paid?

Yes. Invoice status and payment activity stay with the invoice. Connected providers can add their supported payment or accounting updates to that workflow.

Can a workspace manage retainers too?

Yes. The billing experience includes retainers so recurring client arrangements can stay visible beside invoices and the ongoing work delivered for the account.

How Kato handles connected tools

Kato keeps the original service in charge of its specialist data and permissions. The integration brings the context needed for planning, review, and follow-up into the workspace where your team already manages client and project work. Authorize only the accounts and resources your workspace needs, review access when responsibilities change, and use the provider's own administration tools for detailed configuration.

Before installing any integration, confirm which Kato record should own the relationship and who will review its output. Revisit the connection whenever a client engagement, account owner, or provider permission changes, so the context remains accurate and access stays intentional.
